For the duration of the summer, the Hourglass by Marc Newson can be seen inside the historic Burlington Arcade as part of Marc Newson’s takeover of the Gagosian Shop in London. The Hourglass is exhibited alongside pieces from his 2019 show at the gallery, which explore the medium of glass and rare decorative processes in limited-edition furniture.   

The 60-minute Hourglass filled with gold nanoballs is surrounded by items of larger and smaller scale including limited edition books, two pieces from the cloisonné furniture series, aluminium surfboards inspired by his Australian roots and a cast glass chair and murrina table.  

The presentation coincides with the launch of a recently published catalogue that documents the intensive manufacturing process behind the art pieces.  

Marc Newson takeover at the Gagosian Shop is now open and will remain in situ until September 10.
